This large handcrafted cutting board is made from end grain wood to provide a robust and easy to clean cutting surface.  The dimensions are 44.5cm (17.5in) x 29.9cm (11.7in) x 5.5cm (2.1in) and it weighs 4.1kg (9lbs). The light end grain wood is pine, and the frame is jarrah. The frame is dovetail jointed for strength.

 When cutting on an end grain board, your knife stays sharper because you are slicing in between the wood's fibres. And end grain cutting boards are somewhat “self-repairing” because those wood fibres bounce back into place after chopping.

 The end grain cutting board's wood surface is harder and longer lasting. Its firmness is nearly 1½ times higher compared to the side surface used in regular boards.
